A Night Called Quest is back! On Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August, De Studio kicks off its cultural season with an explosion of queer creations. Immerse yourself in a journey through performances, visual art, poetry, dance, installations, and music. Eleven emerging artists invite you into their worlds during this festival-within-a-festival, in collaboration with the Antwerp Queer Arts Festival.

Get swept away by a language-rich vulva celebration, laugh and move to the rhythms of a dancing stand-up comedian, lose yourself among kombucha scobies, and explore the boundary between organic and synthetic skin. From intimate textile collages to emancipatory scenography, subtle dance improvisations and activist imagery – A Night Called Quest is a full-bodied tribute to queer expression in all its forms.

Wander through the inspiring spaces of De Studio – from room to room, from exhibition to performance. The timetable will be released one week in advance, but make sure to arrive by 20:00 to experience the full program.

Delta van Melle

Visual artist Delta van Melle creates experimental work with a playful yet layered nature. They work physically and intuitively: with fingers, scribbles and spontaneous movements. Delta uses materials such as glass, wall paint, old drawings and scoby - the residue of kombucha, which represents growth, containment and social constructs. They will also work with this material during A Night Called Quest.
