In his (for now) eternal quest to find the Story of Stories, primordial storyteller Thomas Dudkiewicz tackles his never-ending story in his new solo The Last Chapters. An existential, immersive experience in which a storyteller dives into the mind of the comatose actor ‘Thomas’, in a final desperate attempt to bring him back to consciousness. The storyteller drags Thomas along on a personal odyssey through the frayed edges of imagination and the Self. In the subconscious, chaos reigns; in storytelling, there is order. But the subconscious fights back.

Writer, actress and director Luna Schepens presents her new performance, inspired by Barbara Buttrick, the legendary boxer who put women’s boxing on the map in the 1950s.

Two figures ask each other questions about the many forms of pain and uncertainty we can experience in life. Are we witnessing an artistic post-show conversation? An interview? A therapy session?

Not only the on-the-edge-of-your-seat attention for breathtaking feats such as standing three high on top of each other or a spectacular fall that just ends well. But also attention to the gaze, the breathing, perhaps the hesitation that precedes them. Attentive awareness. Careful concentration.

Voetvolk celebrates twenty years of artistic expression and adventure. Over that time, they have created 15 performances and toured in more than 100 cities across some 35 countries.
