Six Organs of Admittance
Songwriter, singer, and guitarist Ben Chasny – also known from the legendary American noise rock band Comets On Fire – started his Six Organs of Admittance project in the late 1990s. With it, he became one of the pioneers of the new folk movement, alongside Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, and CocoRosie. After numerous projects (such as Badgerlore, August Born, 200 Years, Rangda, …) and more than twenty albums, he released the solo album Time Is Glass on Drag City. Rural-industrial, psyched-out new folk that commands serious respect.
With support act by De Vlaamse Primitieven. De Vlaamse Primitieven is the alter ego of Antwerp-based guitarists Jan Boudart and Freek Vreys. After studying jazz, they discovered a shared love for psychedelic music from the 1960s, ethnic drones, minimalism, and the music of legendary American primitive guitarists such as John Fahey, Robbie Basho, Glenn Jones, and others.
