Fade Into You
Fade Into You is a nocturnal festival in which you will be tempted to shamelessly merge into the other, to get lost, to disappear, to seek out the light in each other's eyes and to dance to the rhythm of your shadow. Entwined with your deepest depths, you will wander through De Studio, which will burst at the seams during the endless stream of live music, (dance)performances, visual arts and DJ sets, until, veiled in darkness, you see the first rays of sunshine creep in and awaken from this sultry winter dream.
Curators Ramy Moharam Fouad and Violet Braeckman invite you to appear in a guise you have always wanted but never dared to show before, as your shadow side, your most secret alter ego, as your innermost self pushing its way out.
Gala makes art-pop for girls who feel too much. Think Björk’s weirdness meets Rosalía’s drama, but make it about doomscrolling at 3am and wanting someone who doesn’t exist. She writes about stuff we don’t say out loud: digital obsession, body image spirals, waiting to be chosen. Her music sounds like classical training colliding with glitchy chaos - strings that haunt you, electronics that hit different.
After collaborating with Zwangere Guy and The Subs, Gala said fuck it and went independent. Now she’s making her most honest work yet: an EP about being a girl online, wanting everything, and rotting in place. No filter, no label, just vibes and feelings.
With a vision, she’s on a quest to blend and infuse electronic music with diverse genres. For her it isn’t just about playing beats or tracks but to interweave various sounds to create a cohesive story, inviting you on a journey that resonates. Each performance is a different curated voyage designed to connect deeply with the listener and their dancing hips, making you feel every beat, transition and every moment.
Somewhere deep inside the asshole of performance-artist Simon Van Schuylenbergh you can recently find a brand new cultural hub called Anal Pompidou. If you open-up a little more and go even deeper, the topics go further and the performances are wilder, there might be some audience participation of the worst kind, alongside an artisanale bakery and a weird collaboration with the quartier. Expect D.I.Y. special effects, meets homosexual desires, meets institutional-diharria, meets chaotic energy, meets unsubsidised hemorrhoids, meets you, the audience in the intimacy of the moment. “i’m so high on art, but so low on money. High meets low, low meets high, where am i?” After having a first city-trip to ‘den Bourla’ in december, Anal will come back to Antwerpen, this time to De Studio, the other side of the square nearing the botanic sanctuary hotel. Hopefully the new ruling-class of Antwerp and beyond, alongside everyone else will fades into his asshole this time. Just like the hole in your annual budget plan, there is a hole for everyone in ANAL who wants to get lost!
