Op 8 augustus nodigen Antwerp Queer Arts Festival en De Cinema je uit voor een bijzondere filmvertoning van vijf internationale queer kortfilms die de grenzen van vorm en verwachting oprekken. Van poëtisch en abstract tot persoonlijk en kwetsbaar: deze films vertellen verhalen over gender, liefde, identiteit en het lichaam, elk op een volstrekt eigen manier.

Samen vormen deze films een krachtige staalkaartvan queer ervaringen – visueel verrassend, emotioneel gelaagd en maatschappelijk urgent. Blijf na de films vooral zitten voor het nagesprek met Poespas Producties.

• In B&S (IN 2025 - 30’) laat regisseur Lipika Singh Darai zien hoe stiltes soms meer zeggen dan woorden. Met klank, beweging en losse fragmenten onderzoekt ze queer-zijn in een samenleving die niet wil kijken.
   
• SHAME (FR/ES/LB 2024 - 4’) van Hadi Moussally is een visueel indringend portret van schaamte, het queer lichaam en zelfbeeld – confronterend en teder tegelijk.
   
• Het Gouden Beer winnende LLOYD WONG, UNFINISHED (CA 2025 - 29’) is een persoonlijk eerbetoon van Lesley Loksi Chan aan de creatieve erfenis van Lloyd Wong. Een ontroerende film over queer Aziatische identiteit en herinnering.
   
• ORDINARY LIFE (JP 2025 - 10’) van Yoriko Mizushiri vertelt zonder woorden, maar met zachte animatie en zintuiglijke beelden, over de schoonheid van queer intimiteit in het alledaagse.
   
• Ten slotte vormt UIT DE ZON (BE 2025 - 10’) van Poespas Producties een warme ode aan queer vriendschap, verzet en verbondenheid – zacht, zonnig en uitgesproken.
